Malaria and safety issues associated with antimalarial drugs

Abstract

Malaria is one of the most challenging infectious diseases that poses a serious threat to the health and lives of patients around the world, including the Russian Federation. One of the main problems associated with the treatment of falciparum malaria is development of resistance to many drugs. A serious problem in Russia is a constant shortage of antimalarial drugs.
