Research interests
Research interests of Dr M. Tripathy include physical pharmaceutics, nanobiotechnology, solution chemistry, colloidal thermodynamics, polymer chemistry, and microbial physiology.
Key research accomplishments
Dr Tripathy studies physicochemical properties of medicines, carrying out pre-formulation studies. He investigates molecular processes taking place during modification of the solubility of active pharmaceutical ingredients, as well as metal ion complexes. Dr Tripathy is interested in the study macromolecular fluid dynamics (polymers of pharmaceutical significance) and its correlation with drug release for controlled drug delivery. His research contributes to studying the toxicity of medicines and biomaterials for biologic systems (toxicology). Dr Tripathy researches nanomaterials with a drug-delivery prospective and nano-colloidal drug delivery systems.

Research and administrative activities
Dr Tripathy is a consultant to several pharmaceutical companies and research institutions in India and abroad. He teaches at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Al-Ahram Canadian University, Giza, Egypt. He provides research guidance and supervises thesis writing for masters’ and doctoral degrees. Dr Tripathy is a Co-founder and CEO of Physico Organic Material Solutions India Pvt Ltd (POMsINDIA), a rural based entrepreneurial attempt to create Socio-economical – emotional renaissance in his country India, to begin with.
