Research interests

Ayrat U. Ziganshin is the creator of the scientific school in Kazan, which carries out versatile studies of physiological and pathophysiological role of P2-receptors in human and animal organisms in order to evaluate these receptors as probable targets of action of new potential medicinal products. These works are carried out in close cooperation with a number of leading world scientific centres dealing with similar problems, in particular, with the laboratory of Prof. J. Burnstock (London, UK), Prof. G. Lambrecht (Frankfurt, Germany), Prof. K.A. Jacobson (Bethesda, USA), Prof. J. Pintor (Madrid, Spain).

Under his scientific supervision 2 doctoral and 12 candidate dissertations were carried out.

Publication activity

Author of more than 300 scientific publications, including 4 monographs, 8 reference books of medicines, more than 200 articles, 7 patents for invention, 15 educational and teaching aids.

Hirsch index: 23 (RSCI), 19 (Scopus).

Laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan in the field of science and technology.
